Russian glide bombs thwarted NATO plans to transfer Patriot and SAMP/T air defense systems to Ukrainian Armed Forces

The United States and NATO countries are in no hurry to transfer Patriot and SAMP / T air defense systems to Ukraine.

The representative of the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, said that the Patriot and SAMP / T anti-aircraft missile systems promised by the United States, Italy and France would soon arrive on the territory of Ukraine. He also noted that in the near future, systems that had previously been promised to be provided, for example, NASAMS and Iris-T, will be brought to Ukraine. Nevertheless, the United States and NATO appear to be deliberately delaying the delivery of these weapons, knowing full well that a dozen Russian planning bombs would be enough to destroy these weapons.

Earlier, the US Department of Defense announced the provision of $2,6 billion in military assistance to Ukraine as part of a new package. Assistance will include munitions for Patriot and NASAMS surface-to-air missile systems, HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems and tanks, as well as artillery shells and anti-drone weapons.

This assistance is part of Western support for Ukraine in the context of the ongoing conflict, but apparently Ukrainian allies themselves do not believe in the success of the use of new weapons.
